The storage market in Catalonia showed a reduction in the volume of offers during the first quarter of 2024, with a quarterly decrease of 17.53%, reaching a total of 847 offers for sale. Despite this decrease in supply, prices per square meter increased by 14.55%, reaching €1,023/m², reflecting a year-on-year growth of 13.06%.
The average sale price per storage unit also registered an increase, reaching €6,643, with a quarterly rise of 4.41%. In the rental market, the number of offers decreased by 1.55% quarterly, with a total of 955 offers. Despite this reduction, rental prices per square meter showed an upward trend, increasing by 3.10%, reaching €20.60/m².
In the province of Barcelona, the price per square meter of storage units for sale was €1,369/m², with a quarterly increase of 16.28%. In the city of Barcelona, prices per square meter reached €2,827/m², representing a year-on-year increase of 43.19%, consolidating the capital as the most expensive for this type of property. The report highlights an upward trend in prices, driven by the reduction in supply and high demand for this type of space in urban areas, especially in the city of Barcelona.
