The storage market in Catalonia experienced a significant increase in the second quarter of 2021, with 1,382 registered sales, which represents a quarterly increase of 8.05% and the highest volume of transactions in the last ten years. On a year-on-year basis, a growth of 13.42% was recorded, with 4,699 accumulated transactions in the last twelve months.
Prices also showed an upward trend, with a quarterly increase of 5.62% in the price per square metre, reaching €1,066/m², and a year-on-year increase of 3.33%. The average price per storage room reached €6,540, with a quarterly increase of 16.95% and a year-on-year increase of 13.60%.
The province of Barcelona stood out with 947 sales, the highest number of transactions in a decade, accompanied by a 15.49% quarterly increase in transactions. In the city of Barcelona, sales grew by 52.88% quarterly, while prices soared, with an increase of 115.67% in the average price per storage unit, reaching €17,942.
This report reflects a self-storage market in Catalonia that is in full expansion, both in terms of transaction volume and prices, thus consolidating its growth.
