The commercial premises market in Catalonia showed continued growth in the second quarter of 2021, with an 8.69% increase in the number of sales, reaching 2,088 transactions. However, prices continue to decline, with a quarterly adjustment of -1.38% in the price per square metre, standing at €1,335/m². This value marks the historical low in the price series of the commercial premises market in Catalonia.
On a year-on-year basis, the number of sales also showed a slight improvement of 1.08%, although prices are still undergoing a correction, with a year-on-year decrease of -6.73% in the price per square metre and a reduction of -14.76% in the average price per premises, which stood at €136,681. The province of Barcelona accounted for the majority of transactions with 1,523 sales, although prices per square metre also showed negative adjustments both quarterly and year-on-year. The report highlights an increase in the activity of the commercial premises market in Catalonia, although prices continue to decline, reflecting the prolonged impact of the pandemic on the sector.
