The second quarter of 2020 saw a sharp decline in activity in the commercial premises market in Catalonia, mainly affected by the health crisis. Sales reached 1,042 transactions, a decrease of -53.71% quarter-on-quarter and -16.57% year-on-year, remaining close to historic lows.
In terms of prices, the average value per square metre was €1,431/m², with a quarterly increase of 0.73% and a year-on-year rise of 2.01%. The average price per commercial premises was €160,357, with a quarterly growth of 3.62% and a slight year-on-year fall of -0.13%.
In the province of Barcelona, 768 transactions were recorded, while in the city of Barcelona the average price per premises was €299,831, with a year-on-year increase of 10.79%.
This report highlights the stability of prices despite the decline in sales.
