The garage market in Catalonia during the second quarter of 2020 experienced a sharp decline in activity, due to the effects of the health crisis. Sales reached an all-time low with 4,312 transactions, a decrease of -54.42% compared to the previous quarter and a year-on-year drop of -10.27%.
In terms of prices, the average price per square metre was €1,130/m², with a slight quarterly increase of 0.48%, although there was a year-on-year decrease of -0.17%. The average price per garage was €15,059, showing a slight positive quarterly variation of 0.47%, but a year-on-year adjustment of -0.09%.
The province of Barcelona led the sales figures with 3,219 transactions, while the average price in the city of Barcelona was €1,710/m², with a quarterly decrease of -0.89% and a year-on-year drop of -7.04%.
This report reflects a significant contraction in transactions, although prices showed stability.
