The commercial premises sector in Catalonia showed a slight recovery in the first quarter of 2024, with an increase in sales activity, although with a downward trend in year-on-year terms. 21,812 sales offers were registered, which represented a quarterly increase of 6.94%, although with a year-on-year decrease of 30.54%. Prices per square metre remained stable, with a slight quarterly increase of 0.85%, standing at €1,257/m².
As for rentals, the number of offers fell by 3.25% quarter-on-quarter, with a year-on-year adjustment of 30.23%. The average rental price per square metre remained relatively stable, with a slight increase of 0.09% quarter-on-quarter, reaching €10.82/m². Despite the decrease in rental offers, prices continue to show a slight upward trend.
The province of Barcelona remains the most active in this segment, with 13,816 sales offers and an average price per square metre of €1,369/m². In the city of Barcelona, the price per square metre for the sale of premises reached €2,066/m², consolidating its position as the most expensive area for commercial premises in Catalonia.
