The commercial premises market in Catalonia experienced a notable recovery during the third quarter of 2020, with a total of 1,685 sales, representing an increase of 617.1% compared to the previous quarter. Despite this upturn in transactions, prices per square metre and per commercial premises continued to decline. The average price per square metre in Catalonia was €1,368/m², representing a quarterly decrease of -4.36% and a year-on-year drop of -2.66%.
The average price per commercial premises was €153,803, down -4.09% quarter-on-quarter and down -2.23% year-on-year. The province of Barcelona accounted for the majority of transactions, with 1,233 sales and an average price per premises of €175,554, reflecting a year-on-year drop of -3.41%. In the city of Barcelona, sales grew by 78.83% compared to the previous quarter, but the average price fell by -4.53%, reaching €286,237.
This report highlights the recovery of activity in the commercial premises market after the lockdown, although prices continue to adjust due to economic uncertainty.
