The storage market in Catalonia showed a slight contraction in the third quarter of 2021, with a decrease of -3.04% in the number of transactions, which stood at 1,340. Despite this reduction, the year-on-year results showed a growth of 26.41%, reaching the highest levels since 2011. The average price per square metre continued to rise, with an increase of 1.58% quarterly and 5.22% year-on-year, standing at €1,083/m².
The average price per storage unit reached €6,580, with a quarterly increase of 0.61% and a significant year-on-year growth of 17.02%, reaching historic highs. The province of Barcelona led the transactions with 798 operations, although it showed a fall of -15.73% compared to the previous quarter. This report highlights the price stability in the storage unit market, with sustained demand despite quarterly fluctuations.
